紐奧良鵜鶘4日宣布，不與後衛Nate Wolters續簽十天短約，這位苦情新秀職業生涯的起步再一次跌跤。
Wolters在2013年選秀第2輪被華盛頓巫師挑中，但他當年卻是從密爾瓦基公鹿展開他的NBA生涯，菜鳥年出賽58場，31場先發，平均7.2分、2.6籃板、3.2助攻，以當時的新秀來說表現算不錯。
但Wolters的職業生涯並未就此順遂，由於是不受保障的選秀第2輪新人，今年球隊為了清出名單空間給老將Kenyon Martin，選擇犧牲Wolters。
1月15日，主控Jrue Holiday受傷的鵜鶘給了Wolters機會，他在兩次的十天短約中出賽10場，平均上場10分鐘，但只有1.7分、1.1助攻，命中率低到僅30.7%，不能怪鵜鶘無情。
Wolters身高6呎4吋，是控衛中的高標，他出身南達科他州立大學（South Dakota State University），雖然算是NCAA第一級的學校，但身處冷門分區，在沒有太多曝光機會下，他一直到完成學業才投身選秀。
南達科他州大校史只有3位學生最後一圓NBA夢想，分別是1971年Tom Black與1983年Steve Lingenfelter，兩人都在聯盟待不到2年，最後一位就是Wolters。
Wolters其實不是沒有才華，他的腳步刁鑽、攻擊性強，菜鳥年對休士頓火箭曾攻下19分，但他得學著把握機會，否則將兩位學長一樣，成為劃過NBA的一道流星。
